Just returned from this amazing place, we stayed in the Barn to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, the Barn is equipped with everything you need and is of a high standard, views unbelievable, hot tub and firepit first class (even supplied us with some logs), cannot recommend this place highly enough, excellent value for money, would 100% return and advise anyone reading this post to book and also look at the other accommodation they have on offer, the Barn was great for a romantic break and very private. Car required to get around to visit various locations and drive out for pub food, we will for sure be seeing you again soon. Thank you

Absolutely stunning.
We recently spent 6 days in The Cottage as a mixed aged family group 7 - 70yrs. Was perfect for our group with 3 bedrooms sleeping 6 all with ensuites. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Location is fantastic for most places in North Wales. Plas Meini Estate is stunning there is so much to explore and I am sure we only saw a very small portion. We where lucky enough though to find a waterfall and shallow river area which provide a perfect cold water/natural swimming spot which was enjoyed by everyone. Would definitely go back and would very highly recommend. Our stay was fabulous. Thank you.

Simply wonderful short stay in the stables! Highly recommended. Breath taking views, perfect accomodation, we couldn't ask for more. We will 100% be returning again 😎

We first stayed Plas Menai in May 2023. Today we returned home from our 4th short break there.
Our 33yr old Autistic son absolutely loves it there. He completely relaxes.
We've stayed in all 3 accommodations. All have been beautifully renovated to a very high standard. However our favourite is The Barn. Although it's the smallest, only sleeping 3, the views from the hot tub in the garden, and the lounge balcony on the first floor are stunning!
The larger properties are perfect for families.
A wonderful comfortable base for visiting areas such as Port Merion, Criccieth, Black Rock Sands etc.

We have just returned from a weeks stay in the Cottage at Plas Meini estate. The cottage was finished to a very high standard, decor very tasteful, high quality appliances and finish of decor excellent. Main house has two bedrooms both with very comfy beds and both en-suite. Large kitchen diner again high standard of finish. Very well equipped with all utensils needed. Only thing missing was a large teapot. Our daughter loved the annex, separate one bedroom with en-suite, she loved being on her own, having her own space and freedom. Wi-Fi through out the property was excellent. Garden beautifully landscaped. Could do with a garden umbrella and a couple of reclining sun loungers. Hot tub was fab with stunning view across the valley. The house was very clean, plenty of towels and bath robes supplied. Plenty of accessible parking. Welcome book recommends local restaurants, we tried the Grapes (must book) Pengwern local community pub in Ffestiniog, Golden Fleece at Tremadog was fabulous we went twice was so good. Indian restaurant, Lemon Tree at Penrhyn was amazing and very friendly. Sunday lunch carvery at Oakley arms also excellent. Good road network access, we visited two of the ZipWorld sites, Mount Snowdonia, West Highland railway has lots of fab steam railway days out. Portmerion is also just 15 mins drive and a lovely day out. Plenty of lovely places to visit. Highly recommend this amazing holiday house.

Staying at The Barn House was an absolute delight. From the moment we arrived, we were very impressed by the immaculate presentation and high standard of the property. The blend of modern amenities and cozy atmosphere gave it a truly unique charm. Waking up to the breathtaking views from the bedroom and lounge were simply fantastic, especially sitting in the jacuzzi enjoying the view in the evening. Our stay was nothing short of perfect. I've already recommended this place to my friends and colleagues because honestly, it's rare to find such a gem. The Barn House is not just a place to stay; it's an experience worth. I can't wait to return and relive those wonderful moments. Highly recommended!

We spent 3 nights in 'The Barn' and my gosh what a lovely place. Spotlessly clean, modern, warm & inviting. plenty of room for 3 adults or 2 adults, 2 children. The views are amazing, no photo will do it justice. Hot tub, fire pit and BBQ an amazing perk. Huge bed which was so comfy! Honestly we will be back and i can't wait!
Location: Central to loads of activities. 40 mins to Pen-y-pass for a Snowdon cllimb. 15 mins to Portmerion/porthmadog. 10 mins to Zip World. 30 mins to Mach Loop. Nearest supermarket/shop is in Porthmadog.
Tip - Remember to take your basic condiments (oil, sauces etc..)
We can't wait to return!

Fantastic holiday let, very comfortable and furnished to a high standard. The property is a conversion and the surrounding gardens are just fantastic. Lots of wildlife and the views are amazing. Ideal for weekends or longer as the property has all mod cons.

We spent New Years in the Barn. This accommodation was beautifully renovated and boasted the most amazing views.
When you read "luxury" on the description you imagine the standard to be high, but this is really beyond that. The pictures don't do it justice.
I can't explain the feeling of tranquility you get from this place. it truly is magical and well worth a visit.

As a family group consisting of 5 adults, we decided to spend New Year's Eve 2022 in Snowdonia. All of us were keen to get away from it all, and we were certainly ready for a post-Christmas break. We booked into the Play Meini Estate, staying in the Cottage and the Garden Room for 3 nights. It really was memorable in all respects.
I have to say that the estate website is excellent but it really doesn't do the site justice. The accommodation, the scenery and the hospitality all far exceed expectations. We found it very difficult to pick fault with any aspect of our stay at all.
From the outset we were warmly welcomed by Andrew and the initial impressions that we formed were extremely positive. Having driven in over the mountain roads, through the National Park we were quite excited about the next few days. We had little trouble finding the estate, car parking was no problem, and Andrew was there to welcome us on arrival. Initial concerns about a lack of phone signal were immediately dispelled by the presence of a good wifi signal for those who felt the need. We had brought groceries and supplies, and there was a nice welcome pack in the cottage. The kitchen, like the entire complex was extremely clean and comprehensively equipped. We lacked nothing at all.
The interior decoration of the cottage and all of the other buildings has been done to an outstanding level. It is obvious that a lot of thought has gone into the design and layout of every room. The decor and furniture has all been done to the highest standard - no cast offs, or second hand furniture to be seen. The kitchen like the rest of the cottage was equipped to the highest standards. We also had the added benefit of tasteful Christmas decorations. All of the buildings had really good wood burners and a generous supply of logs which we made good use of during our stay. At no point did any of us feel that we were lacking anything that we needed for our stay.
The terrace outside, the hot tub, and the handy porch to change footwear etc were all ideally sighted and equipped. The estate sits in the National Park, you can venture out onto footpaths directly from the cottage, there are walks in abundance. The North Wales coast, Bala Lake and the Snowdonia Park are all within easy reach. If you want all of that and spectacular views from your private terrace or garden, this is really the place for you.
Altogether, a faultless review - We loved it and will be going back again!

All the reviews prior to 2019 do not relate to present owner's self catering cottages and have been used without our prior permission.We sold our very successful holiday let business in April 2019 ,established for thirty years with thousands of satisfied guests.Our lovingly restored cottages have since undergone a three year "renovation " project,first bookings commencing Aug 2022.Attached images of The Cottage and The Stables pre 2019.Also image of C17th barn ,now demolished and replaced with modern bedroom annexe.

Stayed in The Cottage. Delightfully renovated old cottage(s), very spacious, really high level of decor and facilities. Nice towels, good WiFi, heated outdoor seating, hot tub, very good kitchen. Very tranquil & serene, great views, not far from Portmerion and other places. Loads of USB charging sockets. Would give more than 5 stars if I could!!
